Foot and ankle surgery

Drs. Cyrille Cazeau, Yves Stiglitz and Maxime Sadoun are orthopaedic surgeons specializing in foot and ankle disorders in Paris. Among the pioneers of minimally invasive and percutaneous foot surgery in France, they practice at Victor Hugo Clinic in Paris’s 16th arrondissement, as well as at Hôtel-Dieu Hospital and Raymond Poincaré Hospital. Their approach combines surgical precision, minimally invasive techniques with reduced scarring, and outpatient treatment whenever the patient's clinical condition allows.
Foot and Ankle Conditions We Treat
Foot and ankle disorders are common and can significantly affect daily life. Hallux valgus (bunions), a progressive deformity of the big toe, is one of the most frequent indications for surgery, particularly in women. Hallux rigidus, a form of arthritis affecting the first metatarsophalangeal joint, causes painful stiffness during walking.
Other forefoot conditions routinely treated by Drs. Cazeau and Stiglitz include Morton's neuroma, hammer and claw toes, tailor's bunion (bunionette or quintus varus), and second-ray disorders. Their ankle practice covers Achilles tendon disorders, ankle instability, osteochondral lesions, and total ankle replacement surgery as an alternative to ankle fusion (arthrodesis).
Our specialties
Minimally Invasive and Percutaneous Foot Surgery: Recognized Expertise
Percutaneous foot surgery is performed through tiny millimetric incisions under fluoroscopic guidance, without opening the joint. Developed and refined in France since the 1990s, this technique can reduce scarring, postoperative pain, and recovery times.
Dr. Cazeau is among the French surgeons who have helped advance this field. A member of the GRECMIP (Research and Study Group for Minimally Invasive Foot Surgery) since 2004 and co-author of the leading French-language reference textbook on minimally invasive and percutaneous foot surgery, he teaches these techniques both in France and internationally.
Minimally invasive surgery is not suitable for every clinical situation. The choice of surgical technique is always determined by the nature and severity of the condition, following a comprehensive clinical assessment and radiological evaluation.
Consultations and Surgery in Paris
Drs. Cazeau and Stiglitz see patients in private practice at Victor Hugo Clinic (5 Rue du Dôme, 75116 Paris). They also consult within the public healthcare system, respectively at Hôtel-Dieu Hospital (Paris 4th arrondissement) and Raymond Poincaré Hospital (Garches).
Appointments can be booked directly online through Doctolib. Before any surgical decision is made, a thorough consultation is carried out to assess the condition, discuss the available treatment options, and determine the most appropriate surgical approach for each patient.
